About
I founded Tarr Advisory to bring a different quality of thinking to leadership and organisational change, one that takes seriously both the complexity of the systems people work within and the human experience of working within them.
My career spans thirty years at organisations including IBM, Infosys, EY, and Adobe, across roles in sales, marketing, digital transformation consulting, and services delivery. I have worked at the intersection of strategy and people for most of that time, and witnessed the recurring patterns that persist across organisations despite the frameworks and methodologies in place: decisions that don't make rational sense, change programmes that fail despite everyone's best efforts, and the leaders who know what needs to happen but struggle to gain traction.
Understanding those patterns and what is needed to shift them, for individuals, teams, and organisations, is what motivates me. I write about leadership, organisations, and the human experience of change in my Substack publication, The Human in the Machine.
I am currently conducting original research into how senior leaders make sense of their role and leadership identity during AI disruption – what it actually feels like to lead through a period of profound and accelerating technological change. This research, undertaken as part of my MSc in Organisational Psychology at Birkbeck University, uses qualitative methods to explore the lived experience of leaders navigating terrain that existing frameworks have yet to catch up with. It is research that is directly informed by the work I do with clients and that I bring back into my practice.
Alongside my advisory and coaching practice, I serve as a Supervising Volunteer and Training Facilitator at The Listening Place, a charity supporting people in crisis. This work continually sharpens my capacity to listen without agenda, hold difficulty without rushing to resolution, and remain present when the stakes are high – qualities I bring into every client engagement.
I am based in London and work with individuals and organisations internationally – people who are serious about understanding what is really happening, not just managing what is visible on the surface..
